A pretty website that does not ring your phone is just an expensive business card. Open your site on your phone and go through this list. Every missing item is costing you calls.
Above the fold (what shows before scrolling)
1. What you do and where. "Lawn care and landscaping in Pembroke Pines" beats "Welcome to our website". Google and people both need to know this in two seconds.
2. A phone number you can tap. On a phone it should call with one tap. Put it in the header so it is always visible.
3. One clear next step. "Get a price" or "Get a free estimate". One button, not five.
Prices and trust
4. Prices, or at least a range. Homeowners compare at night. The company that shows a price gets the call. A calculator that measures the lawn from the map is even better.
5. Real photos of your work. Stock photos of perfect lawns in another country do not build trust. Before and after photos from your own jobs do.
6. Reviews. Show your Google rating and a few real reviews with first names.
7. License and insurance. If you have them, say it. Many homeowners check.
Pages Google needs
8. One page per service. Mowing, sod, mulch, cleanups, irrigation, tree trimming. A single "Services" page with a list does not rank for each one.
9. Your service area. Name the cities and neighborhoods you work in. A page per city helps if you cover several.
10. Fast loading. If your site takes more than three seconds on a phone, many people leave before it loads. Google also ranks slow sites lower.
Capture the lead
11. A short form. Name, phone, address, what they need. Every extra field loses people.
12. Leads go to your phone right away. A form that sends to an email you check once a week is a lost job. New leads should text you or land in an inbox you see all day.
Bonus: Spanish and Portuguese
If your area has many Spanish or Portuguese speakers, a version in their language sets you apart. Most competitors only have English.
How did you do?
If you checked fewer than nine, your site is likely sending customers to competitors. The fix does not have to take months. We build a landscaping site with all twelve, plus a satellite price calculator, as a free preview so you can see the difference before paying anything.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a website if I have a Facebook page?
Facebook pages rarely show up on Google for searches like "sod installation near me". A website with a page per service does, and it lets customers see prices and contact you directly.
